Overview
Building a foundation for generations to come.
The Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation has been stewarding its ancestral lands long before California had a name. But as the Tribe’s role expanded across education, healthcare, philanthropy, economic development, and cultural preservation, its communications needed to evolve with it. What began in 2018 as an opportunity to bring greater consistency to the brand has grown into a long-term creative partnership. As agency of record, EFM works closely with Tribal leadership and citizens to develop experiences that honor the Tribe’s history and values while connecting with audiences today.

Outcomes
Creating a brand as enduring as the stories behind it.
We started by establishing Yuhaaviatam’s first comprehensive brand guidelines, bringing consistency to its visual identity without reinventing what already held meaning. We then transformed a decade-old, three-page website into a modern, modular digital experience designed to grow alongside the Tribe. The new approach made it easier for Yuhaaviatam to manage and share its stories and helped establish a new standard for Tribal websites that others would soon look to for inspiration. What began with brand and digital has grown into a trusted creative partnership spanning evergreen campaigns, community impact initiatives, and the Tribe’s annual powwow, the largest in Southern California. Working closely with Tribal leadership and citizens, we continue to help San Manuel communicate its impact while ensuring its culture and values remain at the heart of every story. More than seven years into our partnership, our work continues to evolve alongside the Tribe. Across every initiative, we bring the same focus to the table: creating thoughtful, authentic experiences that honor San Manuel’s legacy while giving the organization the tools and flexibility to keep moving forward.
